History
Before the turn of the last century a Reading Room was provided for the village by the Rector, the Rev Richard Burdon. He died in 1919 and the Reading Room was then purchased by the Parish Council. The current hall was built in the 1930s and the kitchen annex was added in the 1970s. It is in the heart of the village.
Facilities
In 2011 the Hall was completely renovated to a high standard and has recently undergone some additional improvements to improve the hall’s green credentials and now provides the following facilities:

Individuals can book the Hall for meetings, fund raising events and parties etc., subject to the terms and conditions of the Hall Hiring agreement. If a pay bar is required, the hirer must obtain their own licence.
The Village Hall committee uses the Hall for its own events, including musical evenings, quizzes and children’s entertainment. One regular event is the Monthly Film Night which takes place on the first Saturday of each month (except August). This features a cash bar, and there is an interval halfway through.
The Village Hall Committee
The Village Hall Committee meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:30pm in the small meeting room and would welcome new committee members. Members of the public are also welcome to attend.
