It has been decided to initiate a PARISH COUNCIL COMMUNITY AWARD.
For anyone who has made a tangible difference to the well-being of the village and perhaps brings happiness and joy to our community, making it a better place to live. They will have provided exceptional service and demonstrated outstanding dedication.
Criteria:
- Resident in village
- Usually at least 5 years’ service to village.
- Involvement in more than one formal village activity/resource, consistently and reliably, including at committee level.
- Sustained commitment to a main village function
- Initiated a village resource/activity.
- Informal/personal support to individuals/neighbours on-going and/or in crisis.
- Large number of hours involved in village activities
- Consistently contributed to the general wellbeing of the community
- Have assisted in the development and enhancement of social cohesion
- Specific reason for request e.g. moving from village, retirement from office, significant birthday
Application Process
- Nominated by two people, in writing to member of Parish Council including reason for timing of award
- Majority vote by P.C.
