Temporary closure of The Common, Kings Stag, 24 June - 8 July 2024

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along The Common, Kings Stag at Kings Stag Bridge (in both directions), a distance of approximately 20 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 24th June 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months (sic) and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 8th July 2024.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to undertake maintenance works to the bridge after a recent RTC.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. You can check out the map here

For further information about the work being undertaken and access arrangements, call Dorset Highways Operations on 01305 228100.
