At our Parish Council Meeting this week we had a very wide ranging discussion about speeding, 20mph speed limits, traffic calming measures etc in Hazelbury. Ken Huggins from the Speed Watch Group reported that their experience is that 8% of vehicles travelling through the village were exceeding the speed limit, above the Dorset average.
The consensus of those present was that speeding remains an issue but views and opinions were mixed on the issue of a 20mph in all or part of the village.
It was agreed that the Parish Council would meet with the Highways Department of Dorset Council and look at our speeding hot spots and see what traffic calming measures could be introduced and whether a 20mph speed limit is appropriate for those locations.
