Shortly after this year's winter floods that blocked roads across the county we were hit by no less than five extreme heatwaves in rapid succession, causing a drought that left our land baked dry and our farmers struggling. The forecast is for next year to be even hotter.
The 2023 State of Nature Report found that the UK is now one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world.
On Fri 23rd Oct’26 in Hazelbury Bryan’s Village Hall there will be a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing, with the latest science & facts on biodiversity loss and the changing climate, and how it is now affecting our health, our food security, our economy and even our national security.
The event will be attended by our MP Simon Hoare and our Ward Councillor Steve Murcer. Everyone over the age of 16yrs is welcome. Doors open 6.30pm, the film starts at 7pm and lasts 50mins. There will be a discussion afterwards as we examine what it means for us all, and most importantly what we can do about it. We are not powerless !
