Parish council elections are set for 2nd May. However, nominations closed on 3rd April and there were only seven candidates for the seven vacant positions. This means that those seven are deemed to have been elected as parish councillors and there won't be an actual vote. The seven are Phil Dimmock, Ken Huggins, David Maughan, Sarah Meeks, Steve Murcer, Martin Richards and Val Rubie. The observant among you will note that these are the existing councillors.
You will, of course, still be able to vote on 2nd May for your new Dorset Council councillor
